MY MISSION: Offering Advice as a Single Parent

As I continue deeper into parenthood and my adult years, I am realizing that one of the best ways to build a happy life is to be your best “you.” Ultimately, it is all you can control. The challenges of life will never end but either will the opportunities to turn these into triumph! But you can only achieve this with self-love and confidence.

Truth be told – a healthier and happier life is predicated on the quality of our relationships; from our self to our partner to our children and to our family and friends. With genuine intentions and effort, we can make a difference in people’s lives and, in return, our own. There is so much value to gain from our relationships with the right inspiration, focus and guidance. Do not underestimate the power of your relationships!

My goal is unpretentious – enable greater happiness in others by simply sharing my life experiences, many from the perspective of how it fits into being a parent, a single father in my case. The reality is that family structure and parenting are different today and we need new perspectives to evolve our attitude about raising children on our own, whether completely alone or as a co-parent.

Sometimes the most powerful forms of hope and inspiration come from the influence of everyday moments and emotions. I have been through a lot, both good and bad, and I hope what I have to share can provide a positive impact and encouragement to live with purpose and strength.

I am a man of strong family values who lives honest, carefree and “in the present.” Free spirited and adventurous, I always seek to better myself and make a difference in the world around me. I am sincere and authentic.

It has always been personally important to relate to people. Every experience is an opportunity for individual growth and every relationship is an opportunity to develop compassion and accumulate life “currency.” We need self-care and an honest understanding of our own realities to be truly happy. And we need other people and their objective perspectives to help get us there.

I am blessed to have accumulated significant diversity in my career with jobs in government, business and the military. I worked for one of the world’s premier relationship management and conflict resolution firms and am trained to help others gain value in their relationships. I have a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rochester and a Masters in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.

Outside of my primary work, I enjoy staying active, which includes volunteering (currently as a Special Olympics coach and Girl Scouts troop leader), running a massage therapy business, traveling, and spending significant time with my large family (I’m the oldest of six kids!). Then, best of all, I enjoy being the greatest father I can for my daughter. I enjoy parenthood more than anything.

I highlight these traits and experiences to help you see that I am built to inspire, restore confidence and positively transform mindsets. My life is grounded in love and I feel complete when I express my feelings. I have overcome multiple challenges (sudden losses, abusive relationships, social discrimination, etc.) but I always came out stronger on the other side. You can too.
